Kathmandu to Base Camp Trek April 4-12 2019
We’ll leave Kathmandu and fly about 75 kilometers (46 miles) into the mountains, to Lukla. From there, we are giving ourselves eight days to make the 60 kilometer (~40 mile) trek to acclimatize to the altitude. Because we have not yet made our attempt on Mt. Everest, the photos in this section have been taken by the other climbers and organizations to which they are attributed. As we make our ascent, we look forward to replacing these images with our own!

We’ll trek into Sagarmatha National Park, the entrance to the Everest Region. Our trek will take us through the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar (3,340m/11,286ft); to Dingboche (4,410 meters /14,470 ft.), a Sherpa village with a population of 200; and onto Chukhung (4,730 meters/15,518 ft.), a yak pasture that is now a lodge village with no permanent residents.
